Rock Ridge Donkeys is proud to offer Gentle Hooves & Happy Hearts, a special outreach service designed to bring comfort, joy, and meaningful connection to residents of senior living communities, assisted living facilities, memory care units, and nursing homes.
For many residents, interacting with animals sparks memories, conversation, laughter, and emotional warmth. Our calm, well-mannered donkeys provide a gentle, grounding presence—inviting smiles, touch, and moments of genuine connection.
This service includes:
One or two gentle, professionally handled donkeys
Experienced handlers who manage all interaction and pacing
Quiet, respectful visits tailored to resident comfort levels
Indoor or outdoor visits where appropriate and approved
A focus on emotional enrichment and low-stimulation engagement
Ideal for:
Assisted living communities
Memory care units
Skilled nursing facilities
Special activity days or wellness programs
Investment:
$200 per hour
We work closely with staff to ensure visits are safe, calm, and appropriate for each setting. All interactions are fully supervised. And visits are structured to allow the donkeys to work for two hours maximum in order to prioritize both resident comfort and donkey well-being.
We require a 20% down, non-refundable payment of 20% for all bookings.
